Titans Cruise Past Great Lakes Christian as Every Player Scores in Fourth-Straight Win
SOUTH BEND – IU South Bend extended its winning streak to four straight on Thursday night, delivering one of its most complete team performances of the season in a 93-45 rout of Great Lakes Christian inside the Student Activities Center. In a true all-hands effort, every Titan who touched the floor scored, and the team’s depth overwhelmed the Crusaders from the opening tip.
The Titans (6-3) exploded out of the gate with a 33-4 first quarter, using relentless defensive pressure and an up-tempo attack to build immediate separation. Sydney Jerrells opened the scoring just eight seconds in with a transition three, and IU South Bend never trailed.
On the night, the Titans forced 26 turnovers, converting them into 34 points, and dominated the glass with a 52-39 rebounding edge that led to 24 second-chance points.
Balance defined the night offensively.
Tenleigh Phelps scored 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting, while Keylee Hudson added 13 to lead the team, knocking down three triples.
Aubrie Booker chipped in nine, highlighted by her early transition layup and Bradie Chambers orchestrated the offense with eight points and five assists.
The supporting cast delivered as well:
Lindsay Arcella posted seven points and seven rebounds. Lizzie Graham added seven, including a third-quarter three. Ashley Schram and Andrea Benefield combined for 13 points and strong interior minutes.
IU South Bend shot 42.4% from the field, hit 10 threes, and went 84.6% at the foul line while holding Great Lakes Christian to 26.3% shooting and 0% from deep in three of the four quarters.
Late in the fourth quarter, the Titans pushed their lead to 50 — their largest of the game — after a Grant three and a Graham layup, sealing a dominant performance and the team’s longest winning streak of the season thus far.
IUSB will hit the road on Saturday when the team battles Olivet Nazarene in CCAC play at 2:00 pm.
