SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (10-0, 4-0 CCAC) defeated the University of Saint Francis Fighting Saints (6-5, 2-2 CCAC) by a final score of 86-69.

Saturday’s win ties a program record set last year for the most consecutive wins to begin a season.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans were led by junior guard Tenleigh Phelps who broke the IU South Bend scoring record for both men and women by finishing Saturday’s contest with a record breaking 42 points.

Phelps’ 42 points came on on better than 77% shooting from the field (17-22) while also knocking down two three points field goals and six of the eight free throws that she attempted.

With 42 points in Saturday’s win, Phelps has moved into the team lead in points per game with 19.9 and extends her team lead in field goal percentage to better than 63%.

The other Titan to record double figures was Maddie Gard who finished with 18 points.

Gard’s 18 points came on better than 50% shooting from the field while also hauling in seven rebounds in the victory.

Guards Emma Fisher and Jazmen Watts both finished just shy of double-double status. Fisher ended Saturday’s contest with nine rebounds and nine assists while playing in a game high 38 minutes of action. Watts finished with a season high 10 rebounds as well as nine points on 50% shooting from the field.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, December 16th, when they travel to University Park, Ill., to take on the Jaguars of Governors State University at 2:00 PM ET.
