Titans Finish Second in CCAC Despite Loss at Judson

ELGIN, Ill. – Indiana University South Bend volleyball had its eight-game winning streak snapped at Judson University, 3-1, in the final regular-season contest on Thursday evening. Despite the loss, the Titans finish second in the overall conference standings, its highest ranking in program history with a 20-12 overall record to go along with a 13-4 league record.

Judson took an early 25-23 first set victory before IUSB evened the match at 1-1 with a commanding 25-13 victory in the second stanza. The Eagles sealed the win and disrupting the Titan winning streak with a pair of set victories in set three (25-20) and set four (25-19).

Sophomore McKenzie Powell dished out a game-high 35 assists while junior transfer Hannah Marchand led the offense with a game-high 16 kills. Powell registered another double-double on the season as the Rolling Prairie, Ind. native added 15 digs.

Senior Samantha Hockstra and junior Alexis Issette added a game-high 16 digs while both Julie Brown and Issette added four blocks each.

As a team, IUSB attacked at a .161 clip with its lowest occurring in the third stanza at .051. Judson used strong attacking percentages in the third (.286) and fourth (.316) to seal the win and take eighth overall in the conference and the final tournament bid.

The Titans will host Saint Xavier at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 inside the Student Activities Center for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Quarterfinals.
