GARY, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (4-5, 1-1 CCAC) fell on the road to the Indiana University Northwest RedHawks (6-1, 4-0 CCAC) by a final score of 79-70 to move to 1-1 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

IU South Bend erased an early 5-0 deficit by going on an 11-3 run to take a three point lead through five minutes of play.

The RedHawks went on a run of their own, regaining the lead and extending that lead to eight points before the Titans came storming back, taking a 33-32 lead thanks to a Jylen Petty layup.

IU Northwest closed the first half on a 9-3 run to take a 41-36 lead heading into halftime.

Indiana Northwest led by as much as 11 nearly halfway through the second half before seven straight IUSB points brought the game within four points.

One last late surge from IU South Bend was not enough as the Titans went on to fall to IU Northwest by a final score of 79-70.

The IU South Bend Titans offense featured three players to score in double figures, led by senior forward Jylen Petty who finished with 15 points.

Petty’s 15 points came on just under 50% shooting from the field while also shooting 50% from the three point line (3-6). At 51% shooting from beyond the arc this season, Petty currently sits sixth in the CCAC in three point field goal percentage.

Other Titans to score in double figures were Quentez Columbus who finished with 11 points and Shawn Brown who finished with 10 points.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, December 7th, when they travel to Palos Heights, Ill., to take on the Trinity Christian College Trolls at 4:00 PM ET.
