Titans Trek to CCSJ in Midweek Clash Before Hosting RedHawks Saturday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend men’s basketball looks to get back into the win column this week with a pair of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents. The Titans clash with Calumet College of St. Joseph on Wednesday, Dec. 4 before hosting Indiana University Northwest on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m.

IUSB treks west with a 3-2 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference record and a 7-4 overall record after having its three-game winning streak snapped at Trinity Christian last Tuesday by a score of 83-70 inside the DeVos Gymnasium.
Wednesday’s league battle will be the 18th meeting all-time between the Wave and the Titans. IUSB is 6-11 overall against CCSJ, including a six-game losing streak. IUSB’s last victory over the Wave occurred back on Feb. 10, 2016 when the Titans came away with a 69-60 win on the road. CCSJ enters the matchup with an overall record of 3-6 while going 2-3 during league play all while dropping its last three outings.
Saturday’s contest against the RedHawks will be the first conference matchup between the two teams but the seventh overall. The Titans hold a 5-1 advantage in the head-to-head series and defeated IUN last time out by a score of 102-99 back on Nov. 6, 2018 inside the Student Activities Center. The RedHawks (5-3, 3-2 CCAC) enter Saturday after travelling to Andrews University on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and hosting Moody Bible on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Senior transfer Kourtlandt Martin leads the Titans with 165 points this season and ranks 15th in the conference with 15.0 points per game. Junior Norell Smith is tenth in the CCAC with 6.9 rebounds per game having grabbed 76 total rebounds through 11 games. Martin is also top on the team with 41 total assists and is fifth in the CCAC with 3.73 per game while his 1.55 steals per game is 15th-best in the league
