Trojans Jump Seven Spots in Latest USTFCCCA Poll
NEW ORLEANS – The TU women’s track and field team made a seven-spot jump in the latest US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings, coming in this week in 16th place.
The Trojans are the only Crossroads League team to make an appearance in this week’s poll, coming in with 135.46 points. Their seven-spot jump also ties for the biggest leap in the newest edition of the rankings.
The national team computer rankings are determined by the USTFCCCA computers using event rankings for the top marks of the 2019 outdoor campaign.
Next week, Taylor will compete at the 2019 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Over the course of the season, the TU ladies have qualified to compete in eight events. In five events, the Trojans will enter competition seeded in the top ten, topped by Livy Schroder’s fourth seed in the women’s 10,000-meter. Other top-ten seeds include the 4×800-meter relay team, Plenseh-Tay Sakeuh in the 100-meter hurdles, Mae Elizabeth Gimre in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Rachel Blagg in the 1,500-meter run.
Action at the 2019 NAIA National Championships will kick off on Thursday, May 23rd in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
