SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana University South Bend (13-28, 7-9 CCAC) softball team played their final game of the regular season against a non conference opponent in the University of Northwestern Ohio (31-16, 17-6 Conf.). The day was originally scheduled for a doubleheader, but field conditions were a concern between both teams after UNOH won game one 5-2. Both teams agreed to cancel the second game.

The Titans played host for the final time in 2025, looking to salvage a four-game season series with UNOH who currently holds a three win advantage over IUSB. The Racers scored first putting up three runs in the top of the second inning on a two run home run and an error on the Titan defense. The Titans responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the second inning on a Summer Johnson RBI double and a Maddie Leisher RBI single, bringing the score to 3-2 in favor of UNOH after two innings. The Racers tacked on a single run in the third inning and single run in the fourth inning on a solo home run and a RBI single to take a 5-2 lead. The Titan offense went quiet after their two run second inning, only able to scatter four hits over the last five innings play, dropping the game 5-2 and losing for the fourth time against UNOH. Jordan Watts was the lone Titan with a multi hit game going two-for-three, while Summer Johnson and Maddie Leisher each had a RBI. Savannah Hamilton took the loss in the circle throwing three innings giving four runs, three earned, on four hits and two strikeouts.

The Softball team returns to action on Thursday May 1st in the first round of the CCAC conference tournament. This will be the softball teams first time in the CCAC Softball Tournament since 2023 where they went 1-2 in the double elimination tournament. Coach Annie Dehnke will be making her first postseason appearance as a head coach.
