Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week

 

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its athletes of the week on Monday, recognizing the top performers from the week of December 4-10. In order to be considered for the award, a student-athlete must be nominated by their institution’s Sports Information Director.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Logan Primerano, Goshen

Primerano poured in 36 points to spark Goshen’s 106-96 upset of No. 16 Bethel and averaged 27.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in a pair of GC wins. Primerano sank five-of-11 triples in the win over BC and shot 65.4 percent from the floor, 60.0 percent from deep and 78.6 percent from the charity stripe on the week.

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Nicole Ignasiak, Indiana Wesleyan

Ignasiak repeated as the CL Player of the Week after posting 19 points and 11 rebounds in No. 23 Indiana Wesleyan’s, 72-67, upset of No. 4 Marian. Ignasiak added one block and one steal and sank eight-of-10 looks from the field to help IWU remain unbeaten in league play

 

Men’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Jordan Downs, Bethel

Downs set a Bethel record and posted the best mark in the NAIA with a leap of 7.58 meters to win the long jump at the Warrior Invite. In addition to hitting the NAIA A mark in the long jump, Downs set a personal-best and finished third in the pole vault.

 

Men’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Caleb Anthony, Taylor

Anthony ripped off a time of 8.13 in the 60-meter hurdles to win the event with the best time in the nation so far this season. Anthony also hit the NAIA A mark with the time.

 

Women’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Plenseh-Tay Sakeuh, Taylor

Sakeuh took third in the long jump with a leap of 5.69 meters. Sakeuh also punched her ticket to NAIA Nationals by hitting the A standard.

 

Women’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Roth, Bethel

Roth helped Bethel win the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:16.29 and added a personal-best time of 26.32 to narrowly miss the B mark in the 200-meter dash.
