Trio of Goals Keep Taylor womens soccer remains perfect

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor continued its undefeated start to the season on Wednesday evening, collecting a 3-1 victory over Indiana Tech (1-2-1).
The Trojans came out firing in the first half, launching four shots on target within the first 15 minutes of the match.
The intensity paid off with the second of those shots finding the back of the net in the 11th minute. Kiana Siefert ran down a long pass and saved it from going out of play before dribbling into the box, past two defenders, and launching a rocket into the goal for her fifth goal in six games to start her collegiate career.
TU continued to control the match, barely letting Indiana Tech see the ball as they searched for a second goal.
Lauren Collins answered the search in the 20th minute, with her third goal in as many games, after not scoring in her first 19 matches in a TU uniform. After a nice setup by Sarah Mullins, Chloe Sena found herself on the wing with a clear line to cross the ball into the box and Collins tapped in the cross at the back post to give Taylor a 2-0 lead.
The Warriors struggled to gain a footing in the game until they scored in the 37th minute off of their first shot to make the match 2-1.
Indiana Tech came out of halftime with new life and fired two shots in the first ten minutes, with one being saved by Hannah Brackenbury.
The Trojan defense stepped up in a big way after that, not allowing a single shot for the rest of the match.
TU finished out the scoring in the 86th minute on a goal from Sena. Brooke Cimini sent a long ball down the middle of the field, which Sena was first to get her feet on and loft a shot past the goalie for her third goal of the season, surpassing her previous career-best of two in 2021 and 2020.
Taylor dominated the match and it was highlighted by an amazing 29 shots with 15 on goal compared to just three shots and two on goal for Indiana Tech. TU also compiled 11 corner kicks without allowing a single one against them.
Taylor continues its season on Friday, September 14th against Madonna (4-1) inside Turner Stadium, with kick-off set for 4:00 pm.
