KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Southeastern football team checked in at No. 18 in the first in-season installment of the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, released today.

This marks the 22nd straight poll the Fire have appeared in.

Southeastern fell seven spots, posting a 1-1 record to start the year. The lone loss was to current No. 17 Cumberlands (Ky.).

The Fire are one of six Mid-South Conference teams that are ranked, and are the only Sun Division member in the Top 25.

SEU’s next home game on September 22 is against current No. 19 Bethel (Tenn.). Future opponents Faulkner and Webber International are among the others receiving votes.
