CHICAGO — Holy Cross College’s Storm Cook (Dayton, Ohio) used a hot hand to net Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the seven-day period ending November 25, it was announced by the league office Wednesday morning.
Cook used a .607 shooting mark from the field (17-of-28), including a red-hot .688 percentage from three-point range (11-of-16), to average 26.0 points per game in two wins for the Saints last week.
A 6-0 sophomore guard, Cook netted 19 points and four rebounds in an 84-79 conference victory against Indiana University South Bend last Tuesday, where he made 4-of-6 three-pointers and 6-of-10 shots overall.
The Thanksgiving holiday did nothing to slow Cook’s numbers down on Saturday, where he delivered 33 points and another four rebounds in an 87-74 victory against Indiana University Northwest. In that game, he totaled seven treys in ten attempts, while converting on 11-of-18 shots overall.
Cook also was solid at the free throw line on the week, going 7-for-10.
Holy Cross’s two wins put the Saints at 6-2 on the season.
