  • Purdue improved to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten Conference with an 84-80 overtime win at Wisconsin … the Boilermakers won their first road game of the season and won its first overtime game since Feb. 21, 2017, at Penn State (W, 74-70).
  • Purdue’s win was the Boilermakers’ fifth at the Kohl Center under head coach Matt Painter … it’s the most wins for a visiting team in the facility since the 2005-06 season (Painter’s first year) … Purdue is 5-6 under Painter at the Kohl Center.
  • Purdue entered the game never scoring more than 75 points in the Kohl Center … Purdue scored 74 points in regulation and finished with 84.
  • Purdue has won five of its last six games against Wisconsin, the best six-game stretch against Wisconsin since Matt Painter’s first six against the Badgers (Feb. 4, 2006 to Jan. 27, 2009).
  • Purdue recorded just eight turnovers, its seventh straight game of 10 or fewer turnovers … Purdue also outrebounded Wisconsin by seven (39-32), making Purdue 108-9 under Painter when winning the turnover and rebound battles in the same game … Purdue has won 25 of the last 26 games when doing so (lone loss: Notre Dame this year).
  • Purdue improved to 91-9 since the start of the 2014-15 season when attempting more free throws than its opponent.
  • Purdue has started 3-2 (or better) in league play for the ninth straight season.
  • Carsen Edwards scored 36 points with four rebounds, one assist and a steal in the victory … it marked his fourth 30-point game of the season, matching the most by a major-college player nationally (St. John’s Shamorie Ponds, Marquette’s Markus Howard) … Edwards’ six career 30-point game are the seventh most in school history … Edwards moved into 24th place on the school’s career scoring list (1,450 points) … Edwards has scored at least 10 points in 36 straight games, the ninth-longest streak in Purdue history … Edwards made six 3-pointers, the fourth time this year he has made at least six 3-pointers in a game … Edwards and Ethan Happ (31 points) became the first opponents to each score at least 30 points since Robbie Hummel (35) and Ohio State’s Evan Turner (32) did so on Jan. 12, 2010.
  • Ryan Cline scored 14 points with two rebounds, two assists and two steals … he moved into 10th place on the school’s career 3-pointers made list (177) … Cline hasn’t had a turnover in the last three games (103 minutes), while dishing out 11 assists.
  • Nojel Eastern scored 10 points with nine rebounds, narrowly missing his first career double-double … he also held D’Mitrik Trice to 4-of-14 shooting from the field.
  • Freshman Trevion Williams earned his first career start, tallying 9 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block in 25 minutes … over the last two games, Williams has 22 points, 23 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks in 46 minutes … 14 of his 23 rebounds have been on the offensive end.
