  • Purdue fell to 6-4 following its 72-68 loss at Texas … Purdue’s four losses have come away from Mackey Arena and to No. 16 Virginia Tech (89-83), No. 15 Florida State (73-72), No. 7 Michigan (76-57) and Texas (72-68) … the four teams have a combined record of 32-5.
  • After outrebounding its first seven opponents this year, Purdue has been outrebounded in each of its last three games by a combined 16 rebounds.
  • Purdue committed a season-low six turnovers … Purdue lost for just the third time since the 2013-14 season when committing 6 or fewer turnovers (vs. Michigan State – Feb. 10, 2018; vs. Michigan State – March 13, 2016).
  • Purdue was just 2 of 16 from 3-point range in the first half, but went 7 of 16 from deep in the second half.
  • Carsen Edwards matched a career high with 40 points, going 15 of 26 from the field and 7 of 14 from 3-point range … the 26 field goal attempts made him the first Purdue player with 25+ field goal attempts since Chad Austin had 25 attempts against Penn State on Feb. 21, 1998 … Edwards has made seven 3-pointers in a game twice the year, becoming the first Purdue player since E’Twaun Moore (2010-11 season) to have two games of 7 or more trifectas in the same season … Edwards now has two 40-point games in his career, tied for the fifth most in a career in school history (Rick Mount – 13; Terry Dischinger – 9; Dave Schellhase – 7; Glenn Robinson – 5) … his 40-point performance was the seventh time a player has reached 40 points in Frank Erwin Center history (1977-78 was first season) … it’s the most in the facility since Kansas State’s Denis Clemente scored 44 on Jan. 31, 2009 … it’s the most in a regulation game since Texas’ Reggie Freeman scored 43 on Dec. 14, 1996, vs. Fresno State … his 28 points in the second half alone were the second most in a half in Erwin Center history … he scored 25 of Purdue’s first 29 points in the second half … Edwards has scored at least 10 points in 30 straight games and has at least 19 points in all 10 games this season … over the last 18 games dating to last year, Edwards has two 40-point outings and two more 30-point games … Edwards surpassed 1,300 career points in the loss and now ranks eighth on the school’s career 3-pointers made list (185) … Edwards became the seventh player this year with 40 points in a game and only the second high-major player to do so (45 by Markus Howard, Marquette vs. Kansas State) … Edwards becomes the 10th player since 2010-11 to have 40 points in a game with three or fewer free throw attempts, and the first to do so against a high-major opponent.
