Taylor Announces Intention to Transfer
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue men’s basketball head coach Matt Painter has announced that junior Jacquil Taylor will transfer following the completion of the school year.
This past season, Taylor appeared in 19 games while averaging 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game while also blocking seven shots in 115 total minutes. For his career, Taylor appeared in 38 games, scoring a total of 72 points with 58 rebounds and 15 blocked shots in 217 career minutes.
Taylor, a 6-foot, 10-inch forward from Cambridge, Massachusetts, will complete his bachelor’s degree in May, graduating from Purdue in four years. He will have at least one year of competition available and is a candidate for an eligibility clock extension.
“Jacquil has approached us about transferring and we have granted him his release. We hope the best for Jacquil and wish him well in his future endeavors,” Painter said. “Jacquil is an outstanding teammate who has been hampered by injuries unfortunately. Jacquil will be able to earn a fresh start at a new school and make an impact on the court.”
Purdue posted a 30-7 record last year and reached its second consecutive Sweet 16.
