Ricardo, Letizia Earn TSC Recognition

BRUNSWICK, Ga.—Southeastern University’s record-breaking women’s tennis team was rewarded for its efforts at The Sun Conference Tournament Banquet.
Junior Sharienne Ricardo and freshman Beatrice Letizia were named Second Team All-Sun Conference, voted on by the league’s coaches.
Ricardo posted a 14-5 singles record, and was 5-2 in Sun Conference play this season. The native of Willemsted, Curacao teamed with Letizia to go 12-5 at No. 1 Doubles this year and posted a 4-2 conference record.
Additionally, Ricardo was named to the Academic All-Conference team which requires a student-athlete to be at least a sophomore with two semesters complete at their institution with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Letizia was 16-2 during her first year of college tennis, and led SEU with a 6-1 conference singles record. Both of her singles losses this season were to nationally ranked opponents.
Additionally, coach Drew Dickens was named Co-Coach of the Year. The Fire posted a program-best 16-3 record, and finished 5-2 in Sun Conference play to place third in the regular season standings.
The Fire will face SCAD Savannah Thursday in the conference semifinal.
