LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University senior Ana Richter has been named The Sun Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in leading the Fire to a pair of wins last week.
Richter turned in a pair of 27-point efforts during a pair of non-conference wins. Against Viterbo, she added six rebounds and four steals, knocking down 13-of-16 from the field. Two days later in a game with No. 20 Saint Francis, the senior had six more rebounds, four steals, three assists and a block as the Fire defeated a Top 25 team for the fourth time this season. For the week, Richter shot just short of 75%.
This marks her fourth conference honor this season.
Southeastern is one of just two remaining unbeaten teams left in NAIA Division II women’s basketball. Richter is the second leading scorer at 23.5 points per game, and is the top field goal shooter at 70.2%.
The Fire return to action on January 4 at home against Thomas University.
