KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Ana Richter has added to her impressive senior resume once again.
For the second time this season, the Southeastern guard was named NAIA National Player of the Week for Division II women’s basketball.
Monday, the Oxford, Ohio native won her sixth Sun Conference weekly award after going 15-of-16 from the field for 31 points against St. Thomas, and had 24 points against Florida Memorial. For the week, Richter shot 74% from the field, giving her a season field goal percentage of just shy of 70% to lead NAIA Division II.
She now has 12 games with 10 or more made field goals, and has shot 50% or better in 16 consecutive games.
Richter ranks second in the nation in scoring at 24.2 points per game, and is 13th in total steals with 53.
This marks the fourth NAIA Player of the Week honor for an SEU athlete this season. Uchenna Kanu (women’s soccer), and Olson Delisca (wrestling) are responsible for the other two.
