Saints WBB edge rival IUSB 72-57

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College Women’s basketball team hosted cross-town rivals Indiana University South Bend Titans in the early afternoon. The Saints pick up a strong win beating their rival Titans by a score of 72 to 57. Coming into the CCAC rivalry match, the Saints had a record of 11-13, and 8-6 in CCAC play. While the Titans had a record of 9-14, and 5-9 in CCAC play. The Saints now improve to 12-13 overall and 9-6 in CCAC play, while the Titans fall to 9-15 overall and 5-10 in CCAC play.

Key Notes of the Game:

– The Saints won the rebound battle 44-35

– The Saints shot 42% from the field and 30% from 3 point range, while the Titans shot only 35% from the field and only 27% from 3 point range

– The turnover game was also won by the Saints as they only turned the ball over 9 times as opposed to the Titans turning the ball over 13 times

By the Numbers:

– Keysha Streater led the Saints with a team high of 24 points, and Alex Forster followed scoring 19 points on the afternoon.

– Kaelyn Barlow led the team in rebounding with 15

– Jessica Norris scored 12 points, while also picking up 3 steals

 

Next Up:

The Saints next game is a quick turnaround as they play on Monday, February 4th, to go on the road to take on the Judson University Eagles at 6:30P M. This game is a rescheduled game from January 30th, due to the extreme conditions the Midwestern region experienced earlier in the week.
