SAINTS WBB FALL, STREATER BECOMES ALL-TIME SCORING LEADER

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College Saints took on CCAC opponent Robert Morris University Eagles on Wednesday night. The Saints lost a close game to the Eagles by a score of 77-65. Despite the loss, the highlight of the night for the Saints was senior forward Keysha Streater breaking the women’s basketball programs all-time points record of 1,708. Streater scored 17 points on the night to put her at 1,716 points in her career.The loss puts the Saints at 13-14 overall, and 10-7 in CCAC play. The win for the Eagles puts them at 13-13 overall with a 9-8 CCAC record.

Key Notes of the Game:

– The Saints struggled shooting the ball, shooting 38% from the field and shooting only 29% from 3 point range, while the Eagles shot 47% from the field and 52% from 3 point range

– Despite losing, the Saints were able to win the rebound battle 42-35

– The Saints also only turned the ball over 14 times compared the Eagles 15 times

By the Numbers:

– Keysha Streater scored 17 points and pulled down 7 rebounds

– Alex Forster scored a team high of 18 points.

– Kaelyn Barlow had a team high of 10 rebounds and 1 block.

– Jessica Norris led the Saints in assists with 8 and also scored 12 points.

 

Next Up: The Saints look to bounce back from the loss on Saturday February 9th, as they take on CCAC opponent and number 15 in the country the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints at 1:00pm at home at the McKenna Arena.
