SEU Football Heads to Lindsey Wilson for FCS First Round

LAKELAND, Fla.—The Fire will see a familiar face in the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series on November 18.
Southeastern will face Lindsey Wilson, which it lost to at Blue Raider Stadium on September 23, 43-30.
“Wherever we would have gone, we would have been excited about to be a participant in the national playoffs,” said coach Keith Barefield. “Lindsey Wilson is a place we’ve been before; they’re an outstanding team, it’ll be a great challenge, and hopefully, we can give them a better game than we did last time.”
This marks the second time the Fire will participate in the FCS, losing in the first round to Reinhardt in 2016, 52-22.
The Blue Raiders are currently 10-0 and were champions of the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division, concluding with a 49-28 win over Campbellsville Saturday.
Southeastern, the champion of the Mid-South Conference Sun Division was ranked ninth in the final NAIA Coaches’ Top 25, with Lindsey Wilson ranked fourth.
Kickoff is slated for 12:30 p.m. Central Time Saturday.
