SEU Football Schedule for 2019 Revealed

LAKELAND, Fla.—Six home games highlight the 10-game regular season schedule for the 2019 Southeastern University football team, released just ahead of its annual Red vs. Black Spring Game.
The season will open at Victory Field for the second year in a row as the Fire play host to Campbellsville University on September 7th. Southeastern will also host Georgetown College on September 21st. The two teams were supposed to meet in Kentucky in 2017, but the game was canceled due to Hurricane Irma.
“Our 2019 slate of opponents promises to be the most grueling schedule we have faced to date,” said coach Keith Barefield. “Each week for 10 consecutive weeks we will tee it up against quality opposition.”
In between the first two home games, the Fire will head to Valley, Ala. to face Point University.
Southeastern will also host Virginia University Lynchburg on September 28 before opening Sun Division play at home on October 5 against fellow 2018 Sun Division co-champion Ave Maria.
“Fortunately for us, six of those games will be on Victory Field and our home fans will see a mixture of perennial NAIA powers and traditional foes,” said Barefield. “It has all the ingredients for great excitement on Saturday nights this fall.”
Following a two-game road trip to first-year program St. Thomas and second-year squad Keiser, the Fire will host Warner on October 26 for Homecoming. The team’s final home regular season game is against Webber International on November 9.
The season concludes with a trip to Montgomery, Ala. to take on Faulkner on November 9.
“Our road schedule tends to be more palatable than recent years as only two games are outside of the State of Florida,” said Barefield.
