SAVANNAH, Ga.— The women’s tennis team fell to fellow Sun Conference member SCAD by a score of 9-0 on Saturday.
The match, which featured an early 3-0 SCAD lead due to Southeastern’s short roster, was controlled by the Bees from the onset of the competition.
SCAD sealed a team win with victories in both doubles matches, with a pair of 8-1 wins over the SEU duos, as they went up 5-0.
Although no Fire player was held without winning a game, there was really only one singles matchup that seemed in doubt after the first set- the battle between Angelique Myrtil and Valerie Droop. Myrtil forced the initial set to go an extra game, but was ultimately defeated 7-5, 6-2 overall.
Women’s tennis will be back in action on Saturday February 17 when they go on the road to compete against Ave Maria.
