Hubbard Climbs CL Scoring Chart in Lopsided Defeat

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor struggled inside against Huntington (18-6, 10-4 CL) on the way to a 77-57 defeat on Wednesday night inside Odle Arena.

Amid a lopsided defeat, Jason Hubbard notched 16 points for 2,337 in his career, which took him into 20th place on the Crossroads League’s all-time scoring list.

Kaden Fuhrmann was the Trojans leading scorer on the night, pouring in 19 while splashing in three triples.

The teams traded baskets early on, with the Trojans continually chasing the Foresters, tying the game three times, and getting within a basket on many occasions. Unfortunately, Huntington had an answer every time and did not trail for a second in tonight’s game.

TU cut the lead to one with just under seven minutes to play in the half before the Foresters went on a 17-3 run to close the half.

Taylor (13-11, 7-7 CL) tried to close the gap but could not get a defensive stop for too much of the game.

Fuhrmann canned two from beyond the arc to get within eight with six-and-a-half minutes left to put a scare into the away team.

Huntington scored the next six points to put the game to bed with five minutes remaining.

The Trojans struggled on offense, shooting under 35 percent from the field and turning the ball over 11 times.

The Foresters outscored TU 48-14 in the paint by continuing to drive to the hoop and finish.

Taylor continues Crossroads League action on Saturday, February 4, against No. 7 Grace (21-3, 11-3 CL) on the road, with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 pm.
