THE INDIANA FOOTBALL DIGEST’S HONOR ROLL – 2017 POST-SEASON SEMISTATE FINALS

CLASS 6A HIGHLIGHTS

Ryan Lynch threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third score for No. 4 Penn in a 34-7 triumph at No. 10 and defending state champion Carmel. Drew Schneider came up with a pair of interceptions and Caden Paquette returned an interception 92 yards for the Kingsmen (12-1). Jake McDonald tossed for 150 yards and one score for the Greyhounds (8-5).

Delbert Mimms scampered 13 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns in top-ranked Indianapolis Ben Davis’ 57-20 triumph over No. 7 Avon. Joey Person ran 11 times for 140 yards and one score, while Reese Taylor was 9-of-16 for 127 yards with a touchdown and ran 13 times for 62 yards and four scores for the Giants (13-0). Sampson James ran 11 times for 140 yards and a touchdown, and Cameron Misner passed for 88 yards and two touchdowns for the Orioles (10-3).

CLASS 5A HIGHLIGHTS

Kyle Wade was 9-of-14 for 194 yards and two scores in Kokomo’s 21-14 victory over No. 10 Michigan City. Jack Perkins chipped in 16 rushes for 96 yards with a touchdown and caught four passes for 85 yards and another score to help the Wildkats (9-4) earn their first trip to the state title game. Michael McCullough threw for 121 yards and one score and ran for 88 yards and another tally, while Daelon Wren had 14 carries for 114 yards for the Wolves (9-4).

Jamon Hogan scampered 17 times for 160 yards and two touchdowns as No. 2 Columbus East earned its second straight trip to the state finals with a 42-13 win over No. 5 Indianapolis Cathedral. Josh Major added two touchdown passes and another rushing score for the Olympians (13-1). Daylen Hall ran eight times for 110 yards for the Irish (7-6).

CLASS 4A HIGHLIGHTS

Jordan Jusevitch raced 15 times for 134 yards and three touchdowns in top-ranked Lowell’s 21-7 win over No. 8 Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger. Jusevitch also caught four passes for 47 passes and hauled in an interception, and Jaeger Gill chipped in 43 yards rushing and an interception for the Red Devils (14-0). Patrick O’Keefe tossed for 66 yards and a touchdown for the Saints (10-4).

Logan Storie recorded 13 rushes for 164 yards and three scores in No. 9 East Central’s 27-14 win against Greenwood. Alex Maxwell added 20 carries for 113 yards and one touchdown for the Trojans (11-3). Seth Gallman passed for 77 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 79 yards and one score for the Woodmen (11-3).

CLASS 3A HIGHLIGHTS

Derrick Ozobu threw for 92 yards and pair of touchdowns for Brebeuf Jesuit in its 17-0 blanking of Mishawaka Marian. Gabe Wright caught five passes for 42 yards and two scores for the Braves (10-4). Mitchell Nagy passed for 75 yards for the Knights (9-5).

Michael Lindauer accounted for more than 150 total yards in Evansville Memorial’s 28-7 win over No. 3 Danville. Lindauer ran five times for 96 yards and two scores and added 55 yards through the air. Keioni McGuire had a 20-yard fumble return for a score, and Branson Combs chipped in a 20-yard interception return for a touchdown for the Tigers (13-1). Toby Hiland passed for 154 yards and one score for the Warriors (13-1).

CLASS 2A HIGHLIGHTS

Luke Crilly converted a 28-yard field goal on the game’s final play, leading No. 6 Woodlan to a 15-14 at top-ranked Eastbrook. Jack Rhoades had 35 carries for 145 yards and a score, and Justin Durkes tossed for 81 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors (12-2). Andrew Barajas had 12 carries for 132 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Panthers (13-1).

Jayce Harter recorded more than 200 yards of offense for No. 5 Southridge in its 24-7 win over No. 2 Indianapolis Scecina. Harter completed all three of his passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns and ran 25 times for 122 yards another tally, while Grant Maxey added four tackles and an interception for the Raiders (12-2). Mac Ayers threw for 220 yards and a touchdown for the Crusaders (12-2).

CLASS 1A HIGHLIGHTS

Jack Kiser raced 24 times for 197 yards and four touchdowns for top-ranked Pioneer in a 42-14 win over No. 5 Monroe Central. Addai Lewallen chipped in three carries for 64 yards with score and also had an interception for the Panthers (14-0). Casey Conatser had 145 yards through the air with a touchdown for the Golden Bears (12-2).

Caleb Hamilton’s five-yard scoring run with 2:17 remaining in regulation helped No. 2 Eastern Greene to a 12-8 win over No. 3 Indianapolis Lutheran. Hamilton finished with 29 rushes for 165 yards and two touchdowns, and Levi Southern added 10 tackles to lead the Thunderbirds (11-3) to their first state finals appearance. Andre Jones had 93 yards passing and a touchdown for the Saints (11-3).
