Grace eases by Emmaus

DEERFIELD, Ill. – Grace’s men’s basketball team had little trouble downing Emmaus on Saturday, winning 90-53 in a rout.

The Lancers extended their winning streak to five straight to start the season, completing a perfect 2-0 weekend at the Trinity International Tournament.

Four players scored in double figures for Grace. Haden Deaton led all players with 23 points in 21 minutes. He did not miss a shot, going 8-for-8 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the 3-point line.

Charlie Warner was almost equally efficient. He scored 19 points in 20 minutes and shot 8-of-12 overall.

Jaret Sons tallied 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and Braxton Linville handed out 10 assists without a turnover in just 15 minutes.

Noel Mpie had the best game of his young career, scoring 11 points with four boards. Eddie Gill IV notched six points with two steals, and Joseph Smith and Tim Swanson each scored four points.

The Lancers are on the road Tuesday with a game at Ohio Christian at 7:30 p.m.
