Marian Sweeps Bethel Baseball

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Bethel Baseball squad (9-27, 4-22) was defeated by Marian University (20-17, 15-11) 10-1 and 5-4 Saturday afternoon.

 

GAME 1

Bethel’s lone run came in the third, with Cooper Tolson flying out to left field which, brought home Jordan Landkrohn to tie the game 1-1.

Marian scored throughout the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh.

Tolson and Landkrohn were the only Pilots to record one hit.

Frank Plesac pitched five innings with 12 hits, seven strikeouts, and one walk on 98 pitches.
GAME 2

Bethel opened game two with a quick run: Corbin Greenslade singled to left field, and Jesse Stout reached home plate.

After five unanswered Marian runs, Bethel scored off a Thomas Dolan walk, bringing Tolson in the seventh.

Elijah Gains singled to left, bringing Quaid Mull and Dominic Deisler home, bringing the game to 5-4, Marian.

Marian caught the next ball as it flew out to right field to end the game 5-4 in favor of Marian.

Brad VanOverberghe pitched four innings with six hits, five walks, and three strikeouts on 95 pitches.
NEXT TIME OUT

The Pilots will be traveling to Indianapolis, Ind. on April 15th to finish the series against Marian University. 1:00 p.m. is the time scheduled for the first pitch.
