Michigan State, Minnesota and Ohio State Standouts Honored as Three Stars

Minnesota’s Pitlick earns first star after tying for the conference lead with five points last weekend 

 

First Star

Rem Pitlick, Minnesota

F – Jr. – Plymouth, Minn.

  • Led the Big Ten with five points on two goals and three assists in Minnesota’s series split with Michigan
  • Gave Minnesota the first lead of the game on Friday, finding the back of the net on a power play
  • Picked up his fourth-straight multi-point game on Saturday, while setting a new single-season career high for points with 33 to tie for sixth nationally in scoring
  • The Academic All-Big Ten honoree earns his second career weekly award and first since Feb. 21, 2017 (First Star)
  • Last Minnesota honoree: Tyler Sheehy (First Star) on Jan. 29, 2019

  • Tied for second in the Big Ten with four points last weekend to help the Spartans go 1-0-1 against Wisconsin
  • Had four points, including his ninth three-point game of the year in the Spartans’ 4-1 win on Friday
  • Scored the following night in the 2-2 tie to extend his point streak to a career best eight games
  • The Academic All-Big Ten honoree claims his fourth career weekly award and first since Jan. 15, 2019 (Third Star)

  • Backstopped the Buckeyes to a 2-0 shutout against No. 11/13 Notre Dame last Saturday, his fourth shutout of the year
  • Turned aside 30 shots on the evening, including 15 saves in the second period and nine in the third to preserve the shutout
  • Ranks second in the nation in both goals-against average (1.64) and save percentage (.945)
  • Earns his fourth career weekly award and his first since Jan. 8, 2019 (Third Star)
