Schmidt Named Daktronics Scholar Athlete

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Southeastern University junior Marlena Schmidt was honored as an NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Daktronics Scholar-Athlete for the 2018-19 season.

Each of the 312 honorees hold a GPA of at least 3.5 and are in their third year of college, with at least two semesters complete at their institution.

Schmidt has completed her undergrad in Actuarial Studies with a GPA of 3.859 and has begun her MBA in Executive Leadership.

She helped the Fire advance to the NAIA Division II National Championship game and finish the season with a 31-3 record.
