KANSAS CITY, Mo.—With a 15-2 start to the season, the Fire baseball team remains atop the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
Southeastern received 14 of 17 first-place votes, with the other three going to Wednesday’s opponent Tennessee Wesleyan to edge out the Bulldogs by 17 points for the top ranking.
This marks the highest in-season ranking for the team, which finished the 2018 season with the top ranking and started the 2019 season at No. 1.
Last year, the Fire were ranked as high as second during the season.
Joining SEU in the Top 25 are Sun Conference opponents St. Thomas (10th) and Keiser (17th). Warner and Webber International are currently in the receiving votes category.
The Fire are 15-2 on the year, and host TWU at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
