KANSAS CITY, Mo.—With a strong start to the 2017-18 season, and a pair of key victories at the NAIA Division II Showcase over the weekend, the Fire men’s basketball team went from the receiving votes category to the Top 25.

In the first regular season ranking by the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches, the Fire are ranked 11th.

This marks the 25th ranking in program history; the most of any SEU sport. It also marks the first time the Fire have been ranked since being 24th on January 19, 2016. This is the highest SEU has been ranked in men’s basketball since being preseason No. 9 in 2014.

SEU is currently 6-1 on the season, and will return to Sun Conference play Thursday at Johnson & Wales University. The next home game is Saturday at 7 p.m. against Keiser.
