Taylor Earns First Crossroads League Win over Goshen

UPLAND, Ind. – A quick start on offense gave Taylor its first Crossroads League victory against Goshen, winning 2-0.

Jessica Doctor earned a win, pitching through five innings. Darby Shaw would pitch the last two innings for the Trojans. Combined, the duo only gave up five hits.

Kara Tucker and Lauren Kanai earned the game’s only two runs. The pair scored in the first inning after a Maple Leaf error which gave Tucker and Kanai enough time to score.

The Maple Leafs would get a few opportunities throughout the game to bring home a run but were unsuccessful.

Taylor opened up game two hot on offense, bringing in 10 runs in only three innings. Inclement weather would play spoiler as rain would stop the game.

The remainder of the game will be played on April 6, when both teams meet up at Goshen (6-11, 0-1 CL).

Taylor (8-3, 1-0 CL) will travel to play at Indiana Tech on March 21 with game one starting at 3:00 p.m. The Trojans will be back in action at home on March 23 when they host Grace at 1:00 p.m.
