Women’s Golf Second after 18 Holes at Webber Fall Invite

LAKE WALES, Fla.—The Fire women’s golf team got off to a strong start during the opening round of the Webber Fall Invitational, held at Lake Wales Country Club.

The 10th-ranked Fire are second, just 15 strokes behind top-ranked and first-place Keiser after 18 of 54 holes. SEU posted a team score of 309 the first day.

Leading the way is senior Sarah Noto, who carded a one-over 73, tallying two birdies on the back nine. She’s currently in a tie for fourth, three shots off the lead.

Ashlynn Joyner is sixth with a score of 77. One shot behind Joyner is Valentina Espinosa, who birdied 18 to post a six-over 78 for the day.

Ana Uribe posted an 81, scoring a birdie on the 382-yard par-4 eighth hole, and is 10th.

Brianna Farrell rounds out the lineup in 14th place with a score of 87, picking up a birdie on the 135-yard par-3 fifth hole.

The second round begins Sunday morning.
