Atkins Wins Third Player of the Week Award

LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University senior guard Ryan Atkins was selected as The Sun Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season.

The Miami native had another dominant performance in helping the Fire beat No. 23 Amherst 76-65 on Saturday. Atkins registered his third consecutive, and fourth overall 30-point performance, scoring 31 points, knocking down 11 of his 18 field goals, and was a perfect 7-of-7 at the line. He also chipped in four steals on the defensive end, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out three assists. This moved him up to eighth in NAIA Division II in scoring at 26.6 points per game.

The Fire return to action at home on Thursday against Thomas.
