Maple Leaf Athlete of the Week (10/23): MacKinnon Tracy

Leaf libero’s season high in serve winners spurs spotless stretch on schedule
GOSHEN, Ind. — Junior defensive specialist MacKinnon Tracy of the Goshen College women’s volleyball team is the Maple Leaf Athlete of the Week for October 16-22.

Tracy turned in seven aces and 19 digs for a Maple Leaf team that went a perfect 2-0 last week, including five aces in a four-set win over Mount Vernon Nazarene on Tuesday and two more in a sweep of Great Lakes Christian on Friday. In both aces and digs, she accounted for more than a quarter of Goshen’s team total.

The New Carlisle, Indiana, native and former New Prairie High School standout leads Goshen with 22 aces and 272 digs this season while playing in all but five of the team’s 101 sets. GC is 12-15 on the season and 4-10 in conference play.

Goshen has its final three-match week of the regular season this week, visiting Saint Francis on Wednesday and Taylor on Friday before hosting Spring Arbor on Senior Day at 3 p.m. Saturday. The regular season ends next week.

The Maple Leaf Athlete of the Week is selected each week by a panel of Goshen College administrators, coaches, media and faculty.
